The weather began very cool but gradually warmed until even I was prepared to sit in my bathers on the beach. We regularly caught the sun.
When we decided to scout out our first beach we drove along the coast road and stopped to check out the beaches. At the first one, josh asked, "Will the next one be more beautiful?"!
I explained that we have been spoiled and that no beaches would be as nice as the ones in the Philippines.
But the most surprising thing to me was that my children ventured into the sea - and not just once or twice. Partly, because they loved spending time with my Gran - who is obviously much hardier than I am - I could never get past the soles of my feet! And one day we had cool waves that they enjoyed jumping over. Partly I think because they are younger and want to do silly things! But even my husband went in for a dip - just to cool off as it was so hot - though he didn't stay in long. One time Josh went in the sea he was then so cold he spent the rest of the time on the beach dressed and wrapped up in a dry towel to try and warm up!
Another day there was a gust of wind and the huge parasol/umbrella we were using started moving off down the beach. None of us noticed except Rose who started calling for help. When we turned to look at her she was desperately hanging on to this huge umbrella and we quickly got up to help her. It was very funny.
