Describe a Lemon

For writing, Rose had to take an object to describe. We talked about many options - they have been using the 5 senses to describe the object as detailed as possible. She settled on her stuffed toy cow (which smelled dusty) and a lemon. She did a great job in the car describing the lemon and we talked about how she could cut it to taste it. She said, "we can't cut it, there isn't a knife in the classroom". I said, "that's OK, Miss Wright can get one from the EMC (Elementary Materials Centre)." Rose looked aghast, "No, she can't go to the EMC, we'll all be silly". I had a little chuckle as I pictured the scene. I said, "You're right. We'll take it to Miss Wright before school starts and she can get a knife ready." And that's what we did.
