Cultural Assimilation

Sundays are normally fairly quiet compared to any other day of the week. It gets busier around lunchtime but today was almost eerie. There was hardly anybody around during the first part of the morning. The mall felt empty until about 11:45 when I guess the big Church across the road finished a service and then we began to see a lot more people come in but ti felt strange for a while there.

Naomi bought a "ballerina" skirt and shoes (slightly too small for her feet) with Aunty Jenny's Christmas money because she would not budge until we had put it in her hand! She was so chuffed with it and kept saying "It's so pretty". As soon as we got home she had to put it on and moaned when we said she couldn't wear it to the sand pit. It went right back on when we got home.

Rose bought herself the Tinkerbell film with her savings and is excited she has now found a whole new sphere for spending her money.

Steve told me that when they were walking to the car when we had finished shopping that the last lane in the car park had a car coming so Josh did the culturally appropriate action of holding his hand up in a stop gesture and crossing over to the car. That made me laugh very hard.
